Parade Rules and Regulations

  1. Only seated official representatives elected by the people are permitted in the parade and are by invitation only. The parade may not be used as a platform for any other issue or cause, including political campaigns. Distribution of campaign flyers during the parade is strictly prohibited.
  2. The parade is a non-political, non-denominational event. The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry into the parade if, in its sole judgment, it determines that the entry is controversial or offensive to local community standards, or otherwise considered to be inconsistent with the standards, theme, quality, or purposes of the parade.
  3. No items may be thrown by any parade participant into the crowd.
  4. No alcoholic beverages are allowed by parade participants, active volunteers assisting with the parade, or vendors.
  5. Livestock, reptiles, and wild or domestic animals shall not be in the parade unless prior written approval by the Parade Committee is obtained. Animal entries must arrange for someone (a scooper) to clean up after your animals along the parade route. If your entry includes any dogs or other animals, please ensure they are confined or on a lead or leash to protect them and others along the route.
  6. Trash: Please clean the area around you prior to departing down the parade route, and discard all trash in appropriate receptacles. This is important to our future and a courtesy to all that have allowed us the use of their property(s).
  7. All drivers must possess a valid driver's license and registration for the vehicle.
  8. Buses will drop off at Millbury High School unless advised otherwise by the Parade Marshals and park at Windle Field prior to street closures or take detoured route.
